AL-QALAM JLLS maintains a rigorous two-phase review process to ensure academic quality and editorial excellence. This system guarantees that all published work meets the highest standards of scholarly research in languages and literary studies.
The review process begins with
double-blind peer review conducted by external experts. Upon submission, each
manuscript is assigned to qualified scholars in the relevant field who evaluate
the work anonymously. Reviewers assess the article's originality, academic
merit, methodological soundness, and contribution to the field of languages and
literary studies. Authors receive comprehensive feedback along with the
editorial decision and, when applicable, specific instructions for revision
based on the reviewers' recommendations.
Following successful external
review, manuscripts enter the internal editorial phase. At this stage, the
editorial team examines the work for language proficiency, stylistic
consistency, and proper formatting according to the journal's guidelines. The
team may implement necessary grammatical corrections and formatting adjustments
to align the manuscript with AL-QALAM JLLS publication standards.
It is important to note that
after the internal editing process, manuscripts are not returned to authors for
further revisions. However, authors will receive galley proofs prior to final
publication. At this stage, authors bear responsibility for carefully reviewing
the proofs and must promptly notify the editorial team of any concerns
regarding edits made during the production process. This final check ensures
the accuracy and quality of the published work while maintaining the journal's
publication schedule.
