Submission Guide

    1. Originality Requirements

All research contributors must ensure their manuscripts meet the highest standards of scholarly integrity. Submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism - including self-plagiarism or redundant publication - will result in immediate rejection. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material.

    2. Manuscript Structure

Articles submitted to AL-QALAM JLLS must strictly follow this organizational structure: begin with an abstract and keywords, followed by Introduction, Literature Review and Theoretical Foundation, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations, Limitations and Suggestions for Further Studies, and finally References. This standardized format ensures clarity and facilitates the peer review process.

    3. Article Length

Manuscripts should preferably not exceed 15 pages, inclusive of all tables, figures, graphs, and reference lists. This page limit helps maintain concise, focused contributions while allowing sufficient space for substantive research presentation. Exceptions may be considered for exceptional contributions at the editors' discretion.

    4. Abstract and Author Information

Each article must begin with a single-paragraph, italicized abstract not exceeding 250 words, summarizing the study's purpose, methods, and key findings. Below the abstract, include 4-6 keywords for indexing purposes. A separate title page should contain the author's full name, professional title, institutional affiliation, email address, and phone number to facilitate communication while maintaining blind review integrity.

    5. Reference Style

All citations and references must conform strictly to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition). This includes proper in-text citations, reference list formatting, and treatment of various source types. Authors should pay particular attention to DOI inclusion for electronic sources and proper formatting of non-English references.

    6. Submission Process

Authors must submit electronic copies of their manuscripts as email attachments to alqalamjolls@fugusau.edu.ng. The submission email should clearly indicate the manuscript's title and the corresponding author's name. Receipt of submission will be acknowledged within five working days, after which the peer review process will commence.

    7. Formatting Specifications

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) using Times New Roman font (12-point size) with 1.5 line spacing throughout. All margins should be set to 1 inch (2.54 cm). Tables and figures should be embedded in the text at appropriate locations with clear, descriptive captions.

    8. Publication Timeline

While AL-QALAM JLLS accepts submissions on a continuous basis, the journal publishes biannually in June and December each year. The editorial team makes every effort to process submissions in time for the next available issue, but authors are encouraged to submit well in advance of their target publication date to allow for thorough peer review and editing.
